Abstrakt: | A recent study conducted at Ankara University School of Medicine explored the use of the supine empty stress test (SEST) in evaluating women with stress urinary incontinence (SUI). The study found that the SEST can be a valuable clinical test for assessing the severity of urinary incontinence and excluding the presence of intrinsic sphincter deficiency (ISD). The researchers analyzed data from 364 women with SUI and found that those with a positive SEST had higher scores on the Sandvik Incontinence Severity Index and lower abdominal leak point pressure. The study suggests that the SEST can provide objective information about the severity of SUI and help guide treatment decisions. [Extracted from the article] |
