Abstrakt: A recent study conducted at the University of Ulsan in Seoul, South Korea, examined the efficacy of a continuous closed irrigation system (CCIS) for the treatment of intractable septic ankle arthritis. The retrospective study analyzed 12 patients who underwent CCIS after open debridement between July 2015 and July 2020. The results showed that for 91.6% of the patients, infection did not recur after one-time CCIS, and laboratory test results remained normal. The researchers concluded that CCIS is a good treatment option for intractable septic ankle arthritis due to its simplicity, safety, and positive outcomes. [Extracted from the article]
