A recent study conducted by researchers from Universite de Paris focused on evaluating the beliefs and representations of chronic treatments in polymedicated patients hospitalized in a vascular medicine and surgery department. The study found that approximately 50% of patients with chronic diseases are not adherent to their treatments. Patients who were non-adherent had a more negative overall view of medication compared to adherent patients. The study concluded that understanding patient behavior through their knowledge of treatment representation and beliefs is crucial in improving adherence and drug management.
