Abstrakt: A recent study conducted by Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada, compared the responses to sexual rejection and sexual and relationship well-being in couples coping with Sexual Interest/Arousal Disorder (SIAD) and community couples. The study identified four distinct partner responses to sexual rejection and found that individuals with SIAD and their partners reported greater resentful and insecure responses to sexual rejection compared to individuals in the community sample. The study also found that more understanding and less resentful and insecure responses were associated with greater sexual and relationship well-being. The researchers suggest that clinicians should encourage couples to reflect on their rejection responses and shift to more helpful ways of responding to sexual rejection. [Extracted from the article]
