A study conducted at Nanchang University in China has reported new findings on the synthesis of a gelatin-based molecularly imprinted hydrogel with high selectivity for adsorbing bovine serum albumin (BSA). The researchers used specific monomers to create the hydrogel, which demonstrated good mechanical properties and swelling ability. The hydrogel showed a high adsorption capacity for BSA and exhibited selectivity against other proteins. The study concluded that the prepared hydrogel has potential for specific separation of BSA.
