Abstrakt: A recent study conducted by researchers at the University of Aveiro in Portugal investigated the effects of conventional and potential new metal-based drugs on lipid metabolism in osteosarcoma MG-63 cells. The study found that the conventional drugs cisplatin and oxaliplatin increased triglyceride levels and induced apoptosis, while the drug Pd2Spm maintained control levels of triglycerides and did not exhibit apoptotic behavior. The researchers concluded that Pd2Spm acts on MG-63 cells by adapting cell membrane fluidity, while cisplatin couples this effect with typical signs of apoptosis. This research provides insight into the mechanisms of these drugs and suggests that Pd2Spm could be a potential substitute for cisplatin. [Extracted from the article]
