This article, published in the Romanian Journal of Oral Rehabilitation, explores the gender differences in healthcare-associated infections (HAI) in an oral and maxillofacial surgery clinic in Ia¿i, Romania. The study reveals that men had a higher incidence of HAI compared to women, with men experiencing surgical site infections, respiratory infections, and infections related to therapeutic procedures. On the other hand, women were more prone to urinary and digestive infections. The study highlights the significance of considering gender as a risk factor in the surveillance, control, and prevention of HAI. [Extracted from the article] |
