The article considers with the working conditions of miners regarding the aerosols of predominantly fibrogenic action when performing works in underground mine workings. High levels of dust content in the air in the breathing zone of miners in the faces, the ventilation of which is arranged in full accordance with the current labour protection requirements. The results of studies of working conditions in underground mining conducted by Research Institute of Labor Protection provided in the tables, show that the working conditions of miners regarding the aerosols of predominantly fibrogenic action are classified as harmful conditions with classes from 3.1 to 3.2. The calculation of ventilation is based on the maximum allowable average shift concentration of dust in the ventilated volume, but the concentration of dust in the working area is not considered. Research by the Research Institute of Labor Protection and state statistics confirm the discrepancy between the calculated ventilation parameters of underground workings and the measured parameters of the strongly fibrogenic aerosols in the worker's breathing zone.
