Abstrakt: A recent study conducted at Federal University Parana in Curitiba, Brazil, explored the use of lopinavir and ivermectin as inhibitors of the breast cancer resistance protein (BCRP), which is involved in multidrug resistance in cancer. The researchers found that both drugs inhibited the activity of BCRP and other ABC transporters, and they exhibited cytotoxic effects. The study also revealed the molecular mechanism of interaction between lopinavir and ivermectin with BCRP. These findings provide valuable insights into potential strategies for overcoming drug resistance in breast cancer. [Extracted from the article]
