Abstrakt: The US Patent and Trademark Office has published a patent application from Harvard College titled "Ww-Domain-Activated Extracellular Vesicles Targeting Coronaviruses." The application describes a new method for developing coronavirus vaccines using extracellular vesicles called WW-domain-Activated Extracellular Vesicles (WAEVs). These WAEVs contain viral surface proteins from SARS-CoV-2 and can be used to deliver viral antigens for vaccine development. The patent application also includes a fusion protein that can target coronaviruses, as well as isolated nucleic acids, WAEVs, and methods of delivering them to a subject.
