A study conducted by the Australian Institute of Sport focuses on cardiogenic shock, a complication that occurs in 5%-15% of cases of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and has an inpatient mortality rate of over 40%. The study aims to implement standardized protocols to improve clinical outcomes in patients with AMI-CS. The Durango model, a prospective single-center registry, will be used to identify patients with STEMI-CS and facilitate primary reperfusion therapy with a shock team management algorithm in a rural medical center. The study concludes that the implementation of a STEMI shock team can be feasible in a rural medical center through comprehensive education, training, and performance feedback.
