A new report presents fresh data on the link between metabolic syndrome and periodontal disease. The research aimed to develop advanced machine learning models to identify key predictors of metabolic syndrome, with a focus on explaining the predictions generated by the models. The study found that the severity of periodontal disease, high cardiovascular risk, and low overall well-being score were the factors most strongly associated with the occurrence of metabolic syndrome. This research provides valuable insights into the relationship between periodontal disease and metabolic syndrome, highlighting the importance of oral health in overall health management.
