A recent study conducted at Hospital de la Santa Creu I Sant Pau in Barcelona, Spain, focused on the treatment of a rare condition called Kommerell's diverticulum in association with left or right aberrant subclavian arteries. The researchers used a hybrid technique involving a single-branched thoracic stent-graft, a surgical bypass, and endovascular occlusion to treat a symptomatic patient with this condition. The study highlights the use of imaging techniques and modeling technology to personalize treatment strategies for each patient. The researchers also discuss alternative treatment options and the strengths of their approach. [Extracted from the article] |
