A report from the Christian Medical College in Vellore, India discusses the use of hypofractionated stereotactic radiotherapy (HFSRT) as a treatment for high-grade arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) in children. The study reviewed 14 pediatric patients with Spetzler Martin grades 4 and 5 AVMs who underwent HFSRT between 2013 and 2019. The results showed that HFSRT was highly effective, resulting in complete elimination or significant reduction of the AVMs in the majority of patients. The researchers concluded that HFSRT is a viable alternative treatment for high-grade AVMs in children. [Extracted from the article] |
