Abstrakt: Chronic pruritus (CP) is a common reason for consultation in dermatology and can be caused by various conditions. However, it is often underestimated or undervalued in some dermatoses. The treatment of CP remains a clinical challenge, particularly in psychodermatology where the impact on patients' quality of life is significant. Alexithymia, the difficulty in identifying and verbalizing one's own feelings or emotions, is a topic of growing relevance in psychodermatology but studies on its association with CP are limited. Research suggests that alexithymia may be associated with inflammatory dermatoses and systemic disorders linked with CP. Understanding the role of alexithymia in CP could lead to improved management and treatment approaches. [Extracted from the article]
