A study conducted at the PLA General Hospital has found that Glabridin, a compound found in licorice, can inhibit the cGAS-STING signaling pathway, which is associated with the development and progression of autoimmune diseases. The researchers investigated the effects of Glabridin on cells and mice models, and found that it reduced the production of type I interferon and inflammatory cytokines. The study suggests that Glabridin could be used as a therapeutic agent for autoimmune diseases mediated by the cGAS-STING pathway. The research was funded by the Natural Science Foundation of China and the Natural Science Foundation of Beijing Municipality. [Extracted from the article] |
