Abstrakt: The purpose of this article is to explore how one high-impact practice, outcome-based transformative learning experience of mentored collaborative community-based social marketing field research (MCC-BSMFR) connects the dots between discipline-specific materials and the practitioner world. The authors provide best practice key steps and processes, and lessons learned from student engagement in MCC-BSMFR. Two recent MCC-BSMFR projects (i.e., gentrification and food insecurity) conducted over numerous academic semesters are presented from which data were collected to examine the study’s assertions. Data collection and analysis methodologies and study findings and conclusions including sustainability of the pedagogy, transferability to other disciplines and institutions, and study limitations are presented.
