This article presents the case report of a 35-year-old woman with a long history of paroxysmal tachycardia, who was admitted for an electrophysiology study. She had been treated with several antiarrhythmic agents, most recently digoxin and flecainide, but continued to have symptomatic episodes. Adenosine slows automaticity and conduction in the sinus node and atrioventricular node. Although a case of adenosine-sensitive adrenergic dependent bundle branch reentry has been recently described, adenosine generally has little or no effect on conduction in ventricular myocardium or the specialized conduction system. |
