A recent study conducted by researchers at Augusta University focused on predicting the recurrence of ovarian cancer after chemotherapy. The researchers developed a machine learning risk score using serum proteomics to assess the risk of early recurrence. The risk score was validated in an independent cohort, and low-risk patients had a significantly longer time to recurrence compared to high-risk patients. The findings suggest that this risk score could guide maintenance therapy and aid in the development of innovative treatments for patients at high risk of recurrence. [Extracted from the article] |
