Abstrakt: A recent study conducted by Kerman University of Medical Sciences examined Kawasaki disease (KD), a systemic vasculitis primarily affecting children. The study analyzed the clinical, paraclinical, and therapeutic aspects of KD in Kerman, Iran, between 2007 and 2020. The research found that most patients were between two and five years old, with a male-to-female ratio of approximately 1.4:1. Typical KD was the most common presentation, and the study identified various clinical manifestations, including fever, hand/foot and lip/mouth changes, conjunctivitis, skin rashes, gastrointestinal manifestations, and lymphadenopathy. Echocardiography revealed abnormalities in 78.6% of participants, with coronary artery aneurysm being the most frequent. However, all abnormalities regressed within six months after treatment. The study emphasized the importance of timely diagnosis and treatment to prevent complications and recommended that health policies focus on appropriate management to prevent long-term sequelae.
