A recent study conducted by researchers at Cukurova University Faculty of Medicine examined the case of a 20-year-old female anesthesia technician student who died from sevoflurane intoxication. The student was found dead in her dormitory room with a bottle of sevoflurane liquid present. Autopsy results showed no traumatic injuries, but revealed congestion and atelectasis in various organs. Toxicological evaluation did not detect any other substances in her system, confirming that the cause of death was ingestion of sevoflurane. This research sheds light on the potential dangers of sevoflurane and its associated complications. [Extracted from the article] |
