Abstrakt: Even though many applications provide infrastructure for ease of group communication, securing its data is very much needed and easily be achieved by using Group Key Management. The Group key which is used to encrypt and decrypt the data has to be generated and distributed efficiently. This paper attempts to give security solution for Multicast communications in fog environment. The existing protocols suffers from performance bottleneck due to the overload of centralized server. This also results in single point of failure. The proposed method uses XOR vector space and Pseudo Random Number Generator to efficiently compute and distribute the group keys. This method of Group Key Management is comparatively more efficient than the existing one because of the novel hybrid protocol. Also, this protocol reduces communication overhead, computation overhead and storage requirement. This is achieved by calculating the tuples of group keys in local area by a server called 'Area Leader'. Since it stores only key pairs at any given point of time, the storage requirement is minimal.
