Abstrakt: The Journal of Religion, Spirituality & Aging has been published since 1984 and focuses on research into the topics of religion and aging. The field of inquiry into religion and aging has gone through four stages, starting with pre-inquiry dominated by sociology, followed by combined practice, theological, and research, then combined research with a new emphasis on "spiritual well-being" as a variable, and finally a progressive movement towards research with a transition from religiosity to spirituality as a central focus. The journal has evolved over time and continues to seek articles that appeal to chaplains, social workers, medical workers, and academics. The new editor of the journal will be Jocelyn Shealy McGee, Ph.D. from Baylor University. The field of religion, spirituality, and aging has been greatly influenced by the work of David O. Moberg, who is considered the father of the field and made significant contributions to the understanding of spiritual well-being. [Extracted from the article]
