Abstrakt: COVID-19 pandemic has posed an unprecedented situation. The pandemic has adversely affected all segments of the community and across all the countries of the world. The pandemic is presently under control as the majority of the population has been vaccinated. World Health Organization has confirmed the existence of several variants of COVID-19, which are a result of genetic mutation of the virus. These variants still pose a threat even to the population who are already vaccinated. As the pandemic is contagious, it is quintessential to develop alternative solutions to overcome its spread. One of the known solutions to contain the spread is adequate sanitization. Its implementation is difficult owing to the continuous interaction of persons with others in daily routine life. Human hand is the only part of the body that interacts the most with others, in daily activities, hence it is of paramount preponderance to prevent the spread through hands. The present work addresses this problem by developing a portable wristband hand sanitizer using 3D-printing technology. The study describes the challenges faced and overcome during the design and development. The Computer Aided Design model is developed in Solid Works 2021, collaborative design activities are accomplished using 3D Experience platform of Dassault Systems, the G-code is developed using Ultimaker CURA software and the prototype is printed in 3D printer with Fused Deposition Modeling technology.
