Abstrakt: It has been shown that the administration of anterior pituitary extracts to rabbits produces no definite alteration in blood GSH or GSSG. Such extracts produce a marked lowering of the GSH content of liver, this being particularly evident in the case of crude saline extracts. A definite inhibition in the rate of oxidation of GSH in liver extracts from treated animals has been demonstrated by means of an aeration technique. Some of the factors which may be involved in this inhibition have been discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
