Abstrakt: The article discusses the importance of continuous monitoring during anesthesia and recovery to ensure patient safety. The authors conducted a survey to assess monitoring practices in the UK and found high compliance rates with recommended monitoring standards during general anesthesia. However, they also identified gaps in monitoring during sedation and patient transfers, which are known to be high-risk periods. Specifically, compliance with capnography guidelines during sedation or transfer was found to be poor. The authors emphasize the need for improved monitoring practices to prevent complications and ensure patient well-being. [Extracted from the article]
