Abstrakt: |
This artiticle examines teachers' perspectitives on writiting in their play-based classrooms. The research questitions for this study included: 1) How do two teachers, working at two different preschools, define writiting?; 2) How do these teachers feel about their role in teaching writiting?; and 3) How does technology shape the teacher's writiting instructition? Data sources included extensive observatitions, interviews, and photographs. The findings add to the limited research on preschool teachers' beliefs about specific content areas and indicate that there are multitiple pathways to helping young children find success with writiting. Implicatitions address ways to capitalize on the richness of opportunitities to integrate writiting and play. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
