Wheelchair users have different ergonomic and anthropometric characteristics than non-disabilities. Hence the designer needs to be very concerned about designing facilities for wheelchair users. As one of Jakarta's most comprehensive stations, Gambir Station should have facilities that can accommodate all prospective passengers' needs, including wheelchair users. Several facilities are still not following the ergonomic and anthropometric characteristics of wheelchair users, one of which is the ticket sales counter facility. In the existing condition, wheelchair users have difficulty accessing the counter because the dimensions are not ideal for wheelchair users. Therefore, the researcher recommends priority ticket sales counters following the ergonomic and anthropometric characteristics of wheelchair users. Qualitative phenomenology is used by participated-observation, interviews with a wheelchair user, conditioned participant, and Gambir Station staff. These observations are then analyzed and synthesized into ticket sales counter recommendations following chair users' ergonomic and anthropometric characteristics. This recommendation's results are supposed to be a reference and stimulus for other stations in Indonesia to provide accessible facilities for wheelchair users. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
