Dielectric properties of Cu(1-x)CoxFe2O4 :PbZr0.58Ti0.42O3 layered thick film composites.

Abstrakt: Magnetoelectric composites with different compositions of ferrite phase (Cu(1-x)CoxFe2O4 where x = 0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5) and ferroelectric phase (PbZr0.58Ti0.42O3) are synthesized by standard solid-state reaction method. The single-phase formation of the individual phases was confirmed by the X-ray diffraction patterns. Multilayered thick film composites are deposited on the conducting side of FTO coated substrate by screen printing method. Tri-layered structures (Ferrite/PZT/Ferrite and PZT/Ferrite/PZT) are fabricated using screen printing method. The dielectric properties of the structures are measured at room temperature in the frequency range from 100Hz to 5MHz. Dielectric constant, loss tangent and AC resistivity all decrease with increase in frequency exhibiting normal dielectric behaviour. However, at higher frequency dielectric constant as well as loss tangent tend to show an absorption peak. Conductivity measurements confirmed the presence of small polaron hopping mechanism in the materials. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
