A study conducted by Southern Medical University compared the disinfection effects of 3% hydrogen peroxide and 500 mg/L chlorine-containing disinfectants on the independent waterway of a periodontal ultrasonic scaler. The study found that both disinfectants were effective in reducing bacterial colonies in the water samples taken from the scaler. However, the chlorine-containing disinfectant had a better disinfection effect than hydrogen peroxide. The researchers recommend using hydrogen peroxide for disinfection every other day and chlorine disinfectant once a week. [Extracted from the article] |
