A recent study conducted at University Hospital Dubrava in Zagreb, Croatia aimed to improve the diagnosis of lymphocytic pleural effusions (LPEs) by combining ultrasound characteristics with macroscopic and biochemical features. The study included 84 patients with LPEs and found that the combination of ultrasound characteristics, macroscopic features, and biochemical features improved the accuracy in predicting the malignant etiology of LPEs. The researchers proposed a diagnostic procedure for lymphocytic pleural effusions based on the study's results. This research provides valuable insights into the diagnosis of pleural effusions and may contribute to improved patient care. [Extracted from the article] |
