Abstrakt: A recent study conducted by researchers from the Ministry of Health in Chhattisgarh, India, examined the quality of newspaper reporting on suicide-related news in the state. The study found that the majority of articles focused on reporting specific suicide deaths and attempts, with harmful reporting practices being common and helpful reporting practices being rare. The researchers concluded that efforts should be made to develop context-specific strategies to improve the positive contribution that media can make to suicide prevention in Chhattisgarh.
