Abstrakt: A study conducted by researchers at Hunan Normal University in China aimed to identify the risk factors associated with bleeding at the puncture site following interventional treatment of cerebrovascular disease (CVD) via the common femoral artery. The study analyzed data from 710 patients who underwent this procedure and found that 3.66% of them experienced bleeding at the puncture site. Risk factors for bleeding included higher blood pressure, lower platelet counts, longer prothrombin time and activated partial thromboplastin time, larger vascular sheath sizes, variations in the timing of anti-coagulant and anti-platelet therapy administration, higher bleeding risk scores, unstable blood pressure, repeated puncture, and serious vascular conditions. The study suggests that implementing salt bag compression for a duration of 2 hours can help reduce bleeding complications in high-risk patients. [Extracted from the article]
