A study conducted by researchers at Assam Agricultural University in Gauhati, India, aimed to investigate the relationship between insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) levels in serum and seminal plasma and the characteristics of semen in Beetal bucks. The study involved 12 adult Beetal bucks, with each buck providing six ejaculates. The results showed a significant positive correlation between the concentration of IGF-1 in both serum and seminal plasma of the bucks. The researchers concluded that IGF-1 in seminal plasma could be considered as a potential biomarker for selecting bucks for breeding purposes. [Extracted from the article] |
