Researchers from Ann Arbor, Michigan have conducted a study on the effect of different dosages of histotripsy on tumor cell kill and bleeding in murine brain tumor models. The study involved two types of brain tumors, glioma and lung metastasis, implanted in mice. The researchers found that a lower number of histotripsy pulses at fewer focal locations can effectively kill tumors while minimizing hemorrhage. The study was funded by the National Institutes of Health and the National Science Foundation. [Extracted from the article] |
