Abstrakt: Researchers from Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine have conducted a study on the relationship between dietary total antioxidant capacity (DTAC) and mortality risk in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). The study analyzed data from two cohorts and found that higher dietary total antioxidant intake was associated with lower all-cause mortality risks among CKD stages 1-2. However, there were no benefits observed for patients with stage 3-5 CKD or albuminuria. The researchers concluded that moderate dietary total antioxidant intake may have potential benefits for early-stage CKD patients, but further evidence is needed to confirm long-term benefits for patients with worsening CKD.
