A recent study conducted by the University of Alberta in Canada explored the feasibility and potential benefits of a therapy called ELEVATE for children with spastic bilateral cerebral palsy. The study involved four boys under the age of 3 who participated in 60-minute therapy sessions four times a week for 12 weeks. The results showed that the children tolerated the sessions well and attended a high percentage of the targeted sessions. They also demonstrated improvements in gross motor function and gait. These findings have informed the design of a larger clinical trial to further assess the efficacy of early, active interventions for children with cerebral palsy. [Extracted from the article] |
