Abstrakt: A new report from researchers at the University of Dodoma in Tanzania presents mathematical models for amebiasis, a parasitic disease. The models consider the transmission dynamics of amebiasis and the impact of treatment and sanitation as control measures. The research finds that indirect transmission is more important than direct transmission in spreading the disease. The study also explores optimal control measures, concluding that a combination of awareness programs, treatment, and sanitation is the most effective strategy for reducing infections and associated costs.
