A recent study conducted by researchers at Cenderawasih University in Jayapura, Indonesia, examined the knowledge level of young Papuan female athletes about Female Athletes Triad (FAT). FAT is a syndrome characterized by impaired energy availability, menstrual dysfunction, and low bone density, which can negatively impact the health and performance of young female athletes. The study found that the majority of the young Papuan female athletes lacked knowledge about FAT, including its components and risk factors.
