Abstrakt: This article discusses the bidirectional movement of tunicamycin in Arabidopsis thaliana, a model organism for studying endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress. Tunicamycin is a chemical that induces ER stress by inhibiting protein glycosylation. The researchers established a method to quantify tunicamycin using UPLC-MS/MS and conducted experiments to determine the directional movement of tunicamycin in plants. They found that tunicamycin can be transported from the root to the shoot in Arabidopsis thaliana. This study provides valuable insights into the absorption and transportation of tunicamycin within plants. [Extracted from the article]
