Abstrakt: |
This article, published in the journal Transfusion, discusses the investigation of two samples with unusual genotyping results related to the MNS blood group system. The samples, one from an American Indian blood donor and one from a patient of unknown race/ethnicity, exhibited low signal for certain sequences but predicted a U+ phenotype. Further analysis revealed two novel GYPB alleles, one with amino acid changes p.Thr48Arg and p.Ser84Thr, and the other being a B-A-B hybrid with GYPB exon 4 replaced by GYPA.
