The efficiency of the technological action of plasma flows on the surface of 30KhGSA steel during electric arc vacuum ion–plasma (EVIP) treatment is estimated using the results of measuring of the surface relief, current–voltage characteristics, and the surface potential and using short-time corrosion tests for experimental determination of the chemical activity of the surface. As a result, of nonself-sustained gas discharge treatment, the efficiency of cleaning the surface increases with the reference voltage; however, in this case, the relief distortion and the inhomogeneity of the energy state of the surface increase. Treatment with a Plagus unit is shown to ensure a high efficiency of cleaning and surface activation at moderate relief distortions and a more homogeneous energy state of the surface. As a result, a higher level of reproducibility of the service properties of the coatings is ensured. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
