Abstrakt: The results of development of a next-generation Mg–REM–Zr fireproof cast magnesium alloy are presented. Commercially available magnesium alloys do not have a high strength at room temperature and a sufficient level of heat resistance. A unique Russian cast magnesium alloy with simultaneously stable high specified properties is developed. In addition, the ignition temperature achieved allows the developed alloy to be attributed to fireproof magnesium alloys. The optimum regime ensuring its high strength properties is chosen based on the research of its heat-treatment parameters. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
