Abstrakt: Continents are constantly moving and sometimes collide, resulting in the formation of mountain ranges in the crash zones. Deep rocks in these crash zones become hot and weak, allowing them to flow sideways and upwards in large blobs. When these upward-moving blobs cool and harden near the Earth's surface, they form rock domes. These rock domes contain formerly deep parts of continents and provide clues about the formation and changes of continents. Metamorphic rocks, which form under high temperatures and pressures, are important to study as they can reveal information about the deep parts of collision zones and help us understand how continents form and change over time.
