Abstrakt: Bacterial canker is possibly the largest limiting factor in the cultivation and production of kiwifruit worldwide. One of the main aims of this study was to investigate its distribution to the main regions of Greece, where kiwifruit was cultivated during the years 2018–2020. Pseudomonas syringae pv. actinidiae (Psa) was identified in the region of Pella only. In addition, the strains of Psa isolated in this study were characterized based on phenotypic traits, including pathogenicity tests and genotypic data. All isolates tested were grouped with already identified strains of the bacterium and belong to the European population of Psa strains. Finally, the characterization of the isolates as Psa biovar 3 was confirmed by a multilocus sequence analysis using four housekeeping genes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
