A recent study conducted at the Federal University of Health Sciences of Porto Alegre examined the potential of the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) as a biomarker for predicting prognosis in breast cancer patients. The study analyzed the relationship between NLR and pathologic complete response (PCR) in breast cancer patients undergoing neoadjuvant treatment. The results showed that there was no statistically significant correlation between NLR and PCR, indicating that NLR is not a reliable biomarker for PCR in this population. The study also found no statistical relationship between NLR and PCR for different molecular subtypes of breast cancer. [Extracted from the article] |
