A scoping review conducted by the Department of Pharmacognosy in Punjab, India, explores the potential role of hesperidin, a flavonoid found in citrus fruits, in the treatment of lifestyle disorders such as diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease, cancer, and neurodegenerative disorders. The review highlights the therapeutic potential of hesperidin in reducing oxidative stress, inflammation, and apoptotic proteins associated with these disorders. However, the review emphasizes the need for further well-designed clinical studies to establish the safety and clinical utility of hesperidin. This research has been peer-reviewed and published in the South African Journal of Botany. [Extracted from the article] |
