Abstrakt:	A study conducted by researchers at Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine examined the association between refractive error and diabetic retinopathy (DR) in the United States. The study analyzed data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) from 2005 to 2008 and found that individuals with high myopia had a lower risk of diabetic retinopathy. This association was particularly significant in the non-Hispanic Black group. The research suggests that high myopia may be protective against diabetic retinopathy in diabetic patients.
