Abstrakt: Ajou University in Suwon, South Korea has conducted research on Salmonella enterica, a type of Gram-Negative Bacteria that is a major cause of foodborne infections. The researchers developed a rapid dot-blot immunoassay to diagnose multiple serotypes of Salmonella enterica with high incidence rates in humans. They tested the feasibility of 10 commercial antibodies and found that a combination of two antibodies was able to identify 15 out of 18 tested serotypes in just 3 hours. This cost-effective and rapid method could be used as an on-site colorimetric method for Salmonella detection. [Extracted from the article]
