A recent study conducted in Ankara, Turkey, aimed to assess the knowledge and practices of healthcare providers, including family physicians and pediatricians, regarding the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of paroxysmal non-epileptic events (PNEs) in children. The study found that there is a significant knowledge gap among healthcare providers in this area, with family physicians scoring lower than specialists. Additionally, many doctors reported feeling uncomfortable with the diagnosis and leaving the decision of whether the patient should stop taking medication to another clinician. The study highlights the need for targeted educational interventions to improve understanding and diagnostic skills in this area. [Extracted from the article] |
